Casey and Stephanie are a special couple, and I've been lucky to have been able to call them friends for the last six years.
The two met in high school, got married in 2011, and welcomed their first daughter, Evelyn, in 2013.
I took their first round of maternity photos when they were expecting Evelyn, so I was honored when they asked me to also photograph them again as they prepare to welcome their second daughter, Iris, who is due in September.
Together, Casey and Stephanie have made a home that is equal parts organic and artistic, so it felt natural that we would shoot during golden hour at two locations that equally capture their personalities. We started in a reflection pond garden near Casey's office building before we headed to Montrose to shoot in front of the Biscuit Wall, which was painted in 2014 by local Houston-artist, Sebastien Boileau.
As I chose and edited their final images, I realized how cohesive this session was with their first maternity shoot, despite being shot at different locations entirely. However, this time around, it was nice to have Evelyn in the photos and not just in her mom's tummy; it's amazing how natural she is in front of the camera, even though she's only two.
As you look through the rest of the set, I hope you'll enjoy Evelyn's strong, goofy personality as much as I do.
