This weekend was a busy one, but I was glad to spend Sunday afternoon with two of my best friends for their gender reveal.
I met Brooke and Robert when I was in high school, shortly after they met and right before they became an "official" couple. Their love story is almost as adorable as they are together, and they recently celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary in June.
Needless to say, when Brooke told me they were expecting back in May, I was so excited.
Last Wednesday, Brooke and Robert went to the doctor to check on their little one, and though the ultrasound revealed the sex of the baby, they decided to throw a party where they could find out and celebrate with their friends and family.
Of the nearly 50 guests, the vote was split almost down the middle; 23 voted "Team Girl," while 22 decided they were on "Team Boy." (I added Robert to the Team Boy tally because he didn't write his name down, but was hoping for a son.)
Brooke and Robert decided to spray silly string on each other in the backyard with everyone gathered around, and it was the perfect choice for such a playful couple.
As it turns out, Robert was right.
Brooke and Robert will welcome their son, Robert Emmett Lee, on or around December 28. I can't wait to meet him!
For a play-by-play of the couple's reaction, check below. It was so sweet and genuine, and I'm glad I captured it!
(A special thanks to my mom, who not only kept a secret from everyone but made the gender reveal possible!)
