Today marks the beginning of Photo Field Trip 2016, and I'm stuck here in rainy Houston.
Normally I wouldn't complain about being in my amazing hometown, but I really miss my photog friends and I could use a week away from teaching sixth grade to enjoy some California sunshine and soak up some photographic inspiration.

Earlier this year, I got the chance to photograph Brooke and Robert’s gender reveal. I am so excited to meet their sweet son, and can only imagine what joy he will bring to the world!
The soon-to-be parents and I took a trip into Downtown Houston for a mini maternity session at Discovery Green. Because the couple is a little funky and extremely down-to-earth, I knew that the blend of art installations and earthy tones would make for a beautiful backdrop for this session.
