About the ArtistI was born in London, Ontario but have spent most of my life in Calgary, Alberta before attending university. That said, I much prefer the life out west than in the east. Its so much cleaner and not as humid. I spent most of my life drawing. I started when I could first hold a marker and haven't stopped since. Throughout the years I've taken courses at the Rosebud Art Center in Calgary, as well as at the Alberta College of Art and Design. Most recently I was under the instruction of Canadian Wildlife artist David Kitler who taught me from 1999 to 2005. Web design has also been part of my artistic side. Graphic design has always come easy to me and I've been putting it to use since 2002. Since then I've had a number of personal sites, as well as fansites for artists including Avalon, Jump5 and Bethany Dillon. (Links are to the official sites of the artists that I did not create) In January 2004, genERATION, my Jump5 site with friend Evelyn, was featured in an issue of Popstar Magazine. The site was one of the biggest and boasted, on average, 500 emails a day in interaction. AspirationsOne of the things about my program that really made the decision easy to attend was the diversity which is taught. In order to graduate classes range anywhere from music and drama to static imaging and 3D modeling. With my background of traditional art and computers it was a perfect way to learn to combine these elements. To me, computers can enhance and compliment the traditional in a very effective way. My goals right now are: ExpertiseKnowledge in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator as well as Jasc Paintshop Pro.Also comfortable with 3D Stuido Max, Dreamweaver and Flash. I have a good grasp of HTML and CSS coding languages. I am constantly adding to my knowledge of web design, however, and aspire to becoming as knowledgable in PHP and other coding procedures. |
